Firefighters rescued a cat from a mid-day house fire in Palmer Township

Several fire companies responded to contain a March 21 dwelling fire in Palmer Township.

Several  calls came into the Northampton County 911 Center around 12:40 p.m. 

Heavy fire was found in the rear of the structure upon arrival of the first units.

An interior attack prevented the fire from spreading into the rest of the living area.

No injuries were reported, but a cat was saved by the firefighters and rushed to a nearby veterinarian for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The fire was under control in about 30 minutes.

Crews from Palmer Station 27, Wilson Borough Station 24, West Easton Borough Station. 23, Nancy Run Station 14 & Forks Township Station 25 responded. EMS was provided by Suburban Rescue & EMS.
