Photo Story: Fire Spreads from Vacant Ore. Home

May 29, 2014
An early morning fire damaged three homes in Portland.

A two-alarm fire spread from a vacant home to two others in Portland early on May 28.

The original call came in at 2:20 a.m. from a neighbor in the 14000 block of NE Graham Street who said that a vacant home was fully engulfed and extending to her own home. During the 911 call, she mentioned that she could hear glass breaking on some of her own windows.

Portland Fire & Rescue crews arrived and found heavy fire and smoke from a residence that was extending to two surrounding homes. The incident commander called a second alarm to deal with the possibility of three house fires.

The residents of the two adjacent homes escaped.

At least two homes suffered significant damage.
