Fort Worth firefighters made a woman's day when they brought her frog from a smoke-filled home.

Just before 11 p.m. on Sept. 24, Fort Worth dispatched Engine 18 to a reported boat on fire in a driveway near the 5700 block of Tracyne Drive.

When they arrived firefighters found the boat parked next to the residence and the flames were quickly spreading to the attic.  Engine 18 began an aggressive attack as additional units arrived to assist with firefighting operations.

Firefighters conducted a search but found that the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

A family member who later arrived explained that the owners were out of state and then inquired about the family pet. Firefighters were happy to reunite the family frog, who appeared unharmed, with the owner's daughter.

Estimated damage to the structure is $40,000 with an additional $20,000 in damage to the contents.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Fort Worth fire investigators.
