Photo Story: Ladders Used to Contain Boston Blaze

With fire throughout the building, command requested all companies to evacuate the building for an exterior attack.

A four-alarm fire ripped through a Boston building on Nov. 2.

At 1:25 a.m., Boston Fire Alarm struck Box 232 for a building fire on Park Drive at Beacon Street.

Arrving companies found heavy fire showing from the rear of the first floor at 877 Beacon Street. The four-story brick brownstone had similar buildings on each side.

Firefighters reported fire on all floors and the command requested all members off the roof, then struck a second and third alarm.

With fire throughout the building, command requested all companies to evacuate the building for an exterior attack.

Soon after, a found alarm was requested. During the fire, several special requests were made for extra engines and ladders.

A Nor'easter was hitting Boston during this fire procedung some very cold rain and high winds.
