Photo Story: High Winds Fan Fort Worth Blaze

Fort Worth Engine 39 found heavy fire conditions from the home on Firestone Road late Wednesday.

A late night fire destroyed a Fort Worth home on Nov. 12. 

Engine 39 arrived at the one-story home in the 6600 block of Firestone Road just after 10 p.m. to find heavy fire showing.

Firefighters began an aggressive attack and were forced out of the structure as high winds pushed the fire across the attic.

A defensive attack was established with 2 1/2-inch hoselines and a ladder pipe. Crews trained a hose stream on a neighboring home to protect it from the radiant heat.

Fire officials a heater may to be blame for the fire, which destroyed the home.

The resident escaped the home unscatched.
