St. Paul firefighters deployed several handlines for an interior attack and found heavy fire on both levels.

A two-alarm fire damaged a bar in St. Paul's North End neighborhood.

At 2:15 a.m. crews were called to Schroeder's Bar & Grill at Front Avenue and Dale Street.

Engine 22 encountered smoke and fire showing from the C-side of the one- and two-story building.

Crews deployed several handlines for an interior attack and found heavy fire on both levels.

Command pulled companies from the building for a defensive attack.

About 40 firefighters responded with a total of six engines, three ladders, two medic rigs, two rescue squads and two chiefs.
