Five departments battled a Wilson Borough fire that destroyed one home and damaged two others.

One home was destroyed and two were damaged by an early morning fire in Wilson Borough on Dec. 10.

The Wilson Borough Fire Department was dispatched around 6;30 a.m. for a dwelling fire at 1530 Washington St. and arrived to find fire burning through the roof of the 2 1/2-story structure. The fire had already extended to 1526 and 1532 Washington St.

As crews began attacking the fire, mutual aid was requested from the City of Easton, Palmer Municipal, West Easton Borough and Williams Township fire departments.

The fire was knocked down in about 90 minutes and was placed under control in three hours.

Three firefighters suffered minor injuries, along with one resident.
