Feb. 23, 2011
Ed Comeau shares how departments are adopting technology for public education outreach.

This month on Fire Marshal's Corner host Ed Comeau and his guests explore the use of information technology in the fire service, specifically fire prevention.

The guests look at some practical applications in the field and how social media can play a role in reaching out to the public.

Mark Spoo, a fire inspector with the Addison, IL, Fire Protection District and Mike Rupert, an Open Government Associate with Phase One Consulting Group in Washington, DC talk about social media. They share real world practices in use by a variety of agencies.

Ed also talks with Dan Byrne about what is new on the Firehouse.com Fire Prevention Forums.

Be sure to join Ed in March for a special edition of Fire Marshal's Corner where he will be talking with Casey Grant from the NFPA Research Foundation on the 100th anniversary of the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire.
