Firehouse Magazine Editor-in-Chief Harvey Eisner talks with Battalion Chief John Salka  about this month's Fire Scene column "Response Times: Are They Real?" The article appears on page 134 of the November 2010 issue of Firehouse Magazine. 

Chief Salka shares a sample of dispatch and response policies that he's seen in his travels and how they can impact the overall response duration. He discusses how some response times includes the time the caller is talking with the 9-1-1 call taker while others start at the time of dispatch.
