The Leader's Toolbox: Paul LeSage on Crew Resource Management

Dr. Richard Gasaway talks with recently retired Tualatin Valley, OR, Assistant Chief of Operations Paul LeSage about crew resource management (CRM).

LeSage discusses the program that the fire service adapted from the airline industry. He reviews the common misconceptions about CRM and factors about instilling the value of CRM into any fire department.

LeSage, who co-authored Crew Resource Management: Principles and Practice, shares how stories can play a roll in people beliefs and how an officer can work to avoid these serious issues.
