Loveland, Ohio - MN8 Products, a leading developer and distributor of high performance glow-in-the-dark products for the fire safety industry, introduces color technology to its Foxfire® product line, with the launch of its photoluminescent grip wrap in multiple daytime and "glow" colors.

"The ability to have multiple colors in both the light and dark is one of the most significant developments in the photoluminescent field," said Zachary Green, president of MN8 Products. "This capability provides considerable value to firefighters by allowing them to differentiate between tools; crews; roles and responsibilities; and identify primary versus secondary searched sectors."

Foxfire's heavy duty grip wrap, made of industrial grade high-temperature resistant rip-stop silicone, is designed to handle the heat and rigors of firefighting. Sold in individual rolls that can cover the center grip of a hook or halligan, or two handles on a swinging tool (such as an axe or sledge hammer), the wrap self adheres, does not leave residue and can be easily reused. The grip wrap also has a unique surface that will allow grip on wet or dry tools with or without gloves.

The semi-permanent product is available in the following colors:

• White (available in either blue or green glow)
• Orange (glows orange)
• Yellow (glows green)

The grip wrap compliments Foxfire's growing line of fire safety equipment, which also includes do-it-yourself illuminating glow kits for axes, ladders, halligan bars and other tools, and glow-in-the-dark helmet bands.

"The grip wrap offers a lot of flexibility as it can be used and reused on many different types of tools including those with wood and fiberglass handles," said David Hudson, captain of Riverside County Fire Department in California. "I have the tape wrapped around my 4-foot roof hook and have used it on multiple fires and during training burns. Everyone is amazed how much it glows and the grip it adds to the tool. The different colors offer a lot of visibility and can be used to differentiate different tools or crew members. I highly recommend this durable product as it is easy to use and provides great crew accountability and visibility."

Foxfire products utilize an advanced photoluminescent technology that possess the unique capacity to absorb and store light and then release it as a bright luminance in the dark. When fully charged (by any light source), Foxfire products can glow for up to 17 hours. Through a patented color blending capability, Foxfire's grip wrap now glows in 3 different daytime and night/dark colors.

The bright glow emitted from Foxfire's grip wrap and other products illuminates surroundings and serves as a light emitter, enabling firefighters to keep track of their crews in dark environments. It also assists in quickly locating dropped tools in dark environments and provides a visual reference point to increase a firefighter's positional orientation.

"The grip wrap was developed in response to feedback we received from firefighters using Foxfire's illumination technology," said Green. "They told us they wanted to see our products sold in different color options. It is our sincere hope that this product will help the heroes of the fire industry better operate in dark environments."
