American LaFrance Appoints Phil Duncan as COO

SUMMERVILLE, SC – American LaFrance, LLC has turned to former Toyota executive Phil Duncan to assume the role of Chief Operating Officer. 

Duncan comes to American LaFrance with 13 years of experience at Toyota North America and more than 25 years of automotive experience.  He recently served as General Manager, Vehicle Assembly and General Manager, Quality at Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Indiana (TMMI), Toyota’s second largest assembly plant in North America.  He has also served in various leadership roles, including General Manager, Manufacturing, at Toyota Motor Manufacturing of West Virginia (TMMWV), consistently recognized by The Harbour Report as the most efficient engine plant in North America.  Duncan began his career in the automotive industry at General Motors followed by management positions with TRW.

As COO, Duncan will oversee production, quality, supply chain and engineering for American LaFrance’s fire apparatus, vocational truck and military vehicle product lines at all manufacturing facilities.
