GLENDALE, CA. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 Fire Chief Scoggins from the Glendale fire department will accept the Heritage Grant donation presented by the Firemen’s Fund Insurance Company. Selected by the Dewitt Stern of California, the Glendale Fire Department will be receiving a donation of $25,000. This donation is greatly appreciated and will be used for Laptop computers in our Company Inspection and Vegetation Management Programs.
According to Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, the Heritage Grant program has surpassed $17 Million in donations to the Fire Service. This is because every day, every hour, firefighters stand prepared to face emergencies. But because of diminishing budgets, fire departments may lack the needed resources. That’s why there’s Fireman’s Fund Heritage. From firefighting equipment to life saving training, this program awards grants to fire departments across the country so that firefighters have the resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.
