The scholarship application deadline for the 2009 National Junior Firefighter Scholarship and Grant Program has been extended to Monday, June 1. "This scholarship has opened so many doors for me," says Kayla Sulla, member of the Great Neck (NY) Alert Fire Company and 2008 scholarship recipient. "This scholarship has paid for me to take ten classes - that's a full year of schooling that I don't have to worry about financing. I am eternally grateful for the generosity of the NVFC and (2008 scholarship sponsor)the Dunkin' Brands Community Foundation."
