Tablet Command Establishes Giving Plan with the NFFF

March 14, 2013

Simple Track LLC, the creators of Tablet Command, an incident command iPad app, announced today that it has committed a portion of every sale to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Tablet Command pledges $1 from every sale of the Tablet Command iPad app made during 2013 and 1% of total revenue annually beginning January 1, 2014. The company made an initial donation of $1,000 to the NFFF last month.

"At Tablet Command, our sole purpose is to produce technology that improves all first responders' ability to go home to their families and loved ones after they've served their communities," said Tablet Command co-founder Andy Bozzo. "As fellow firefighters, we offer our support to organizations that share this mission."

Originally charged with honoring the nation's fallen firefighters, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation was created by the United States Congress in 1992. In 2004, the NFFF expanded its mission to include the prevention of firefighter injuries and deaths and formed the "Everyone Goes Home" Program. This program developed a sixteen-point life safety initiative that serves as a blueprint for departments to operate more safely.

Tablet Command is aligned with several of these life safety initiatives but especially the eighth, which encourages organizations to "utilize available technology wherever it can produce higher levels of health and safety."

Tablet Command increases crew safety by allowing incident commanders to track crew assignments, manage multiple checklists, and time stamp critical benchmarks met during emergencies.

"We are grateful for Simple Track's support of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation's mission to honor the fallen, offer support to their families and help reduce firefighter line-of-duty injuries and deaths each year," said Ronald J. Siarnicki, executive director of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. "Their commitment will help the Foundation provide valuable programs and resources to the survivors and the fire service."

Simple Track was founded in 2012 by two firefighters from the San Francisco Bay Area who were compelled to design a personnel safety and accountability app for iPad when they could not find anything that was simple and intuitive for the emergency services.
