Hytera Debuts New Portable Radios at Trade Show

Miramar, FL…Several new Hytera TETRA and DMR portables are scheduled to make their first commercial appearances at the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) to be held March 26-27 in Las Vegas, NV.

All share one unifying feature…they are incredibly compact and lightweight.

According to Gary Lorenz, Hytera Communications Vice-president of sales and marketing, “Hytera’s engineers took a long, hard look at the way the market is trending for all communications, let alone two-way radios. People are nearly universally ‘sold’ on the size and profile of smartphones. “That’s why we designed our new TETRA Z1p portable as well as the PD5 and PD6 DMR portables to fit into palm, pocket or purse or comfortably on a belt clip and still be easy to operate.”

Hytera Z1p TETRA Portable (Booth #2122 in TETRA Town) The Hytera Z1p is a fully capable TETRA portable. The radio is feature-packed with up to 5 Watts of talking power in a 4.8” X 2.3” X .9” package, weighing just under 13 ounces.

Built for rugged conditions, the Z1p is IP67-certified (fully submersible to 1 meter for 30 minutes) and meets MIL-STD 810 C/D/E/F/G. Other standard core features include integral Bluetooth and Air Interface (AIE) and End-to-End (ETFE) Encryption.

PD5/PD6 Series DMR Portables (Booth #1027) The Hytera PD5 and PD6 portable radios are ideal ways for end users to incrementally migrate existing analog systems to digital because both feature dual mode (analog/digital) operation. And, these palm-sized powerhouses will also maximize users’ DMR experiences with Hytera’s patented pseudo-trunking for optimum channel utilization.

Hytera’s Open-Standard technology also allows maximum flexibility, allowing use of multiple brand radios on a single system. PD5 Series Popularly priced (from $362 MSRP) to allow easy entry into digital communications, PD5 Series DMR portables are IP54-rated and meet MIL STD 810 C/D/E/F/G. Weighing in at just 9.7 ounces, PD5 radios offer DMRA data service, advanced signaling and One Touch Call/Text.

PD6 Series PD6 Series portables (from $544 MSRP) are feature-rich offering users a compact and lightweight (10.2 ounces) DMR portable that is IP67 (fully submersible 1 m/30 min) rated.
