KME to Debut New Apparatus at FDIC

KME will introduce several new apparatus this week at FDIC.

KME will display a diverse group of apparatus at the Fire Department Instructor’s Conference (FDIC) held annually in Indianapolis, Indiana.

KME’s booth, number 4601 in the Indiana Convention Center, will house six unique fire apparatus.

Expected to garner substantial interest is one of the new pumpers being delivered to the City of New York’s fire department.The cab is an all new, stainless steel split-tilt cab specifically designed for metropolitan severe duty use.

Built to the City’s custom requirements, the unit includes a 2,000 gpm, two-stage pump, stainless steel pump house and body, and 500-gallon water tank. Other pumpers include a KME Challenger WB with premium features like a 1,500 gpm pump, Class A foam system, lowered hosebed and 29” deep compartments; all at a very affordable price.

As well as the City of Warren Ohio’s new engine rescue that combines Class A pumper and heavy rescue features. KME’s Ridgerunner will also be on display and is the fire service’s only interface pumper that meets both NFAPA 1901 and 1906 and offers 1,500 gpm pumping power and highly functional pump and roll.

In addition, KME will have a custom tandem walk-in rescue from York Township, Pennsylvania. The cab is a KME Predator Severe Service 2-door with a transverse rear cab compartment for stokes and backboard storage and both frontal collision and rollover occupant protection.

The body is custom designed for the extensive capabilities of the department and includes a 20-kw generator, light tower, Amkus Ultimate 4-Tool hydraulic tool system, and 6,000 psi DOT storage bottles.

Lastly, KME will display a 109-foot rearmount AerialCat ladder from Exeter, New Hampshire. The truck offers “fire service best” features in eight categories including the only steel ladder with 2.5:1 safety factor, 1,500 gpm aerial water flow, 165 degree vertical monitor range and the widest and deepest fly section available for easy travel up and down the ladder.

Visitors to KME’s booth are eligible to enter a drawing for a free trip to FDIC 2015. The winner will receive free conference registration, free downtown hotel and free airfare from within the continental US.
