Rosenbauer America, LLC in Wyoming, Minn., will be celebrating the grand opening of its new 90,000-square-foot custom chassis facility on May 21. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at their Wyoming, Minn., campus, which is located at 5181 260th Street, and the public is encouraged to attend. The facilities will be open for public tours, fire truck rides, and a meet-and-greet with the employees that make some of the most-advanced fire apparatus in the industry.

In February of 2012, Rosenbauer introduced the Commander custom fire chassis to the fire industry at an event held at the Texas Motor Speedway. Since then, the response from fire departments around the world has been overwhelming, with Rosenbauer receiving more than 1700 Commander custom chassis orders since the product launch. With the increased demand for the Commander chassis, Rosenbauer has made significant investments into a new chassis production facility to meet current and future demand.

The introduction of the Commander chassis has had a positive economic impact on the region, as well as creating over 140 jobs at the Minnesota facility. Demand has continued to increase for the Commander chassis, and as such, the need for skilled labor has increased as well. Attendees at the open house interested in a career with Rosenbauer, producer the world’s most innovative fire apparatus, will have the opportunity to meet with human resource staff to find out if they are the right fit for a career with Rosenbauer.

In 2016, Rosenbauer will celebrate its 150th year of business producing fire apparatus utilized by firefighters around the world. Rosenbauer, an Austrian-based company, formed a partnership in 1995 with General Safety Equipment (now Rosenbauer Minnesota, LLC). Then, in 1998, Rosenbauer America was created when Central States Fire Apparatus (now Rosenbauer South Dakota, LLC) joined the group. Two years later, RK Aerials (now Rosenbauer Aerials, LLC) joined in to complete the solid foundation of Rosenbauer America.

Rosenbauer has become the world's leading manufacturer of firefighting vehicles and equipment. In North America, Rosenbauer incorporates the international strength and innovation of a global company with top American manufacturing firms.
