OPEN Incorporated, makers of the SafetyPAD suite of software products for Fire and Emergency Medical Services, announced the launch of a full-featured electronic patient care reporting platform for Android devices.

OPEN Incorporated, makers of the SafetyPAD suite of software products for Fire and Emergency Medical Services, announced the launch of a full-featured electronic patient care reporting platform for Android devices.

“The is not a scaled down platform, it is a full EMS data collection system which provides an intuitive – yet fully configurable – user interface that leverages a web-based portal powered on a hosted cloud network to help cut hardware costs in half,” said Josh Austin, CTO of SafetyPAD. “We designed SafetyPAD Android to enable EMS teams to quickly and easily document their patient interaction and generate more thorough, error free reports, all while reducing hospital turnaround time so they can focus more on the patient and less on the paperwork.”

The platform is the only fully client configurable Android application that is also designed for NEMSIS 3 compliance, allowing advanced reporting and analysis to occur where and when its needed. SafetyPAD Android does not require an active wireless connection and also includes customizable template layouts using a web-based SafetyPAD “Enterprise” user interface, allowing services to emulate existing paper forms and streamline data entry for reduced training requirements. SafetyPAD's native NEMSIS 3 database allows hospitals to harness a unique, no-cost interface to seamlessly exchange data.

"We've been SafetyPAD customers for quite a while, and we're happy to be able to expand our existing SafetyPAD deployment to include Android to all agencies in Thurston County,” said Pete Suver of Thurston County EMS, one of more than 15 departments across the county that have already signed up to use the Android system in the short time it has been available. "We think SafetyPAD gives us great visibility of our system's activity, as well as providing a tool that's easy for field providers to use.”
