Saline Co. Fire District #5 covers 126 sq miles in north eastern Saline Co. with 16 sq miles in Ottawa Co. The department has 22 firefighters with a command staff of 3, (Chief, Asst. Chief, Division Chief). The District has two stations, Main station located at Simpson Rd and Old 40 highway, this station is equipped with 2-Quick attacks,1-Engine and a quint. Sub-station is located at 429 S Simpson Rd, this station is equipped with 1-Quick attack, 2-Tankers, and 1-Engine. All department personnel have minimum qualifications of Firefighter II and Operations level certifications.
