A man driving an off-road vehicle tumbled down a 10- to 12-foot embankment Tuesday morning, and Dallas Fire-Rescue needed to call in its Urban Search and Rescue Team.

Dallas firefighters rescued a man who was driving an off-road vehicle who had tumbled down an embankment Tuesday at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

The accident happened around 10 a.m. when the man's vehicle went down a 10- to 12-foot embankment at the cemetery, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue. Although his injuries weren't life-threatening, they did require "packaging that made it a challenge for him to be extricated using conventional means," the department said in a statement.

The DFR's Urban Search and Rescue Team then was called in to help, and they used Stokes basket and rope system to pull up the man from the embankment. He was taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated, the department said.
