A 33-year-old worker dislocated his knee, and Broward County Sheriff Fire Rescue crews safely lowered him from the upper deck of a 100-foot yacht Monday.

An injured worker had to be lowered from the upper deck of a 100-foot yacht using a fire engine’s aerial ladder Monday at a Dania Beach marina, fire rescue officials said.

The 33-year-old man was working in the tight confines of the yacht when he dislocated his knee, said Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Michael B. Kane.

Firefighters strapped the worker to a portable stretcher device before using the aerial ladder to safely remove him from the yacht, Kane said.

It happened just after noon at Port Laudania in the 700 block of Northeast Seventh Avenue.

Paramedics were waiting on the ground. The man, whose name was not disclosed, was treated and then taken to Broward Health Medical Center where he is expected to fully recover, officials said.
