CA Dept. Rescues 3 After Pickup Overturns in Canyon

Three people were rescued by Kern County Fire Department firefighters after their pickup truck tipped over in the Kern River Canyon.

Aug. 1—Three people were recused by county firefighters Sunday after their pickup truck tipped over on Highway 178, according to the Kern County Fire Department.

Firefighters were called at 5:30 p.m. to help and found three people who escaped the truck but couldn't scale the canyon wall, a news release said. Seventeen firefighters recused three people using ropes and a basket.

No injuries were reported.
