WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The National SAFE KIDS Campaign has extended its reach once again with the recent launch of this newly improved Web site. Now you can find the latest news, product recalls, and invaluable tips on how to keep your kids safe. This site is more comprehensive and user-friendly so that you can quickly find the safety tips and resources you need.
"This Web site provides families with the critical information they need to best protect their kids from unintentional injury," said Heather Paul, Ph.D., executive director of the National SAFE KIDS Campaign. "Parents, you can feel assured that when you visit this site, you are getting the most accurate information on child safety. You won’t need to search anywhere else."
An exciting new function of the site makes it even easier to get involved with SAFE KIDS locally. Whether to attend upcoming SAFE KIDS BUCKLE UP Car Seat Check Up events or become a SAFE KIDS volunteer, you will know where to go and who to contact in your community. You can also receive regular safety updates through the new SAFE KIDS Spotlight, an e-newsletter to be sent to subscribers twice a month.
Whether you’re a parent, community activist, media person or public policy decisionmaker, you can use the SAFE KIDS site as a tool to learn about child safety-related laws and federal regulations, including bike helmet laws and child passenger safety legislation. SAFE KIDS lists all laws by category, as well as by state. We detail the provisions of each law and outline their gaps, to help you understand that laws don’t always mandate the safest means of injury prevention for your children.
Another feature of this new Web site, the SAFE KIDS Car Seat Locator, enables you to search for the proper car seat for your child and read basic tips for car seat installation. In addition, you can now make a donation to the National SAFE KIDS Campaign online through this new site.
