Drill #122: Risk Analysis

The acceptable level of risk is directly related to the potential to save lives or property. Oftentimes we have heard it stated as “risk vs. gain” or “risk vs. benefit.” Readers will learn the three basic rules we follow when making our determination as to the risk we will take.

The drill is designed to be a single page of information to conjure up discussions among your crew members. Sit down and talk about the exercises, and how they may apply to your company. But, just don't read them. Get moving. Head to an appropriate area and train.

Post the information in prominent places in your stations so it's readily available for review.

Please remember to check your Standard Operating Procedures or Guidelines (SOPs/SOGs) before using the drill.
