Two Philadelphia firefighters are in stable condition after one had to be pulled from a burning building, and two medics were also injured when their ambulance crashed en route to the incident.

WPVI reports that crews found a male victim inside the burning rowhouse in the 1800 block of North 21st street early Wednesday before the third floor of the structure began to collapse and one firefighter had to be pulled from the building.

Both the firefighter who was rescued in the mayday event and a colleague were in stable condition at a local hospital.

Meanwhile, two medics who were headed to the scene were injured when their ambulance took down a traffic light and crashed into a post office. The ambulance spun out of control after colliding with an SUV at 20th Street and Fairmount Ave. in Spring Garden.

Both medics were treated for their injuries at the scene.
