A South Carolina firefighter was hurt when he was hit by a vehicle while working a fatal accident involving two bicycles and an SUV early New Year's Day.

The initial crash happened at about 3:40 a.m. Tuesday, the Myrtle Beach Sun New reports. One of the bicyclists was killed in that accident; the other was injured and sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
