CT Firefighter Suffers Minor Injury in Building Blaze

No residents were hurt, and Derby crews spent around an hour extinguishing the fire that broke out on the second floor of the building early Monday.

DERBY, CTA firefighter received minor injuries while fighting a blaze at a Hawkins Street building early Monday morning.

The call came in shortly after 3 a.m. for a fire at 42 Hawkins St.

When firefighters arrived, they found a working fire on the second-floor of the building.

Firefighters stayed on the scene for about an hour.

While no civilian injuries were reported, one firefighter suffered a minor injury on scene.

The Derby Fire Marshall’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
