A firefighter from a community outside Houston has died after his vehicle collided with a big rig Friday night.
The Atascocita Fire Department announced on Facebook early Saturday that Lt. Jared Snell was driving home Friday night around 8 p.m. when his vehicle collided head-on with an 18-wheeler on State Highway 105 about ten miles east of Cleveland.
"Our hearts are broken, and our thoughts and prayers are with Jared Snell’s family," the post reads. "Details regarding funeral arrangements for Jared will be provided as they become available."
According to the post, Lt. Snell joined the Atascocita Fire Department in 2017 when he moved to the area after previously being a member of the Baytown Fire Department.
