Fire and EMS personnel in Elliott County are mourning the loss of two colleagues.
EMT/Firefighter Drake Adams died at home after getting off his shift from Elliott County EMS, according to a statement from agency officials.
Later, as an engine from 504 Volunteer Fire Department headed to escort his body to a funeral home, it veered off the road, hit a guardrail and went over an embankment into the edge to a river, WLWT reported.
Firefighter Frank Witt, who was driving, was killed.
