To thank our nation’s heroes for their bravery and help ensure they are highly protected when called upon next time to battle a fire—whether structural or wildland—TexTech Industries is offering free hood swaps at FDIC International, April 11–13, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Firefighters can bring their current hood/balaclava to the TexTech Industries Protective Markets booth (#237) and swap it for a new CarbonX Hood at no charge (while supplies last).
The featured CarbonX line of hoods is made of the CarbonX NSM 18-19 1X1 rib knit fabric, which is comprised of a patented blend of high-performance fibers that provide an extraordinary level of protection.
A double layer of the 7.0 oz/yd2 NSM fabric has an ATPV rating of 32.0 cal/cm2 and a TTP rating of 27.8 cal/cm2. The HRC 2 fabric is compliant with NFPA 1971 and is EN 11611 Class 1 and EN 11612 A1, A2, B1, C1, E1. No facial gear protects against flame, heat, smoke, and ash better than CarbonX.
The CarbonX Team will also be on-hand to introduce two new fabrics—CarbonX Arc and ResistX—which are ideal for protective stationwear and offer different levels of protection to meet every need and threat. In addition, the team will officially announce TexTech’s new partnership with Lakeland Industries to develop the next generation of performance fire-fighting gear featuring CarbonX. Planned products include a particulate hood and fire suit.
Firefighters can bravely confront the unpredictable and relentless nature of fire equipped with CarbonX non-flammable gear, which includes: hoods, facemasks, helmet shrouds, baselayer garments, gloves, socks, turnout gear, boot liners, vehicle lining, equipment bags, bandanas, blankets, thermal insulator barriers, and structural heat shields.
