NFFF, FDNY to Host 6th Annual National Stair Climb at Belmont Park

Sept. 6, 2019
The event begins with a brief ceremony at 9:30 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time) on Sept. 15, featuring the FDNY Pipes and Drum Band.

On September 15, 2019, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) and the FDNY need YOUR department’s support. Together we can make the 6th Annual National Stair Climb at Belmont Park the most impactful yet. This stair climb, as well as all National Fallen Firefighters Foundation stair climbs, honors America’s fallen firefighters and supports their families.

When firefighters die in the line of duty, the entire fire service and country grieves. We look for ways to make sure their lives and their sacrifices are honored. We also want to ensure that the families, departments and friends of the fallen find the comfort and resources they need to rebuild their lives.

The stair climb remembers all public safety who have made the supreme sacrifice protecting our communities, including the 9/11 first responders. This event is a great way to honor the firefighters, police and EMS workers who died in the line of duty and support the families of the fallen.

About the Event

The event begins with a brief ceremony at 9:30 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time), featuring the FDNY Pipes and Drum Band. The stair climb will begin immediately following the ceremony as participants climb the Belmont Park grandstands. At the conclusion of the climb, each participant will have the opportunity to ring a ceremonial bell and read aloud the name of the firefighter in whose memory he or she climbed.

More About the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation

United States Congress created the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation® in 1992 to lead a nationwide effort to honor America’s fallen firefighters. Since then, the non-profit foundation has developed and expanded programs to fulfill that mandate. The organization’s mission is to honor and remember America’s fallen fire heroes and to provide resources to assist their families in rebuilding their lives and work within the fire service community to reduce firefighter deaths and injuries.

Join us virtually on September 15th. Take part in the climb to honor our fallen and support their families!
