The Liverpool Fire Department, Inc. is a 100% volunteer organization which contracts with the Town of Salina, County of Onondaga, State of New York to provide services to fire protection district number 4 which includes the Village of Liverpool. Its district protects mostly residential dwellings, several hotels, motels, commercial businesses, light industrial businesses, a rail line with 3 gated crossings, Interstate 90 toll road (east-west), Interstate 81 freeway (north-south), flight pattern for Hancock International Airport, Onondaga Lake from the Syracuse city line to the Seneca River lake outlet.
