Melville, NY — H2M architects + engineers (H2M) is excited to announce a rebrand of its emergency services design team. The Emergency Services Market will now be known as the Public Safety Market to better reflect the variety of projects they work on.
“Our expertise extends far beyond just firematic & emergency services design,” Patrick Stone, RA, LEED AP, Director of the Public Safety Market, explained. “We have experts with decades of experience in designing police stations, public safety answering points, emergency operations centers, and other mission critical facilities dedicated to protecting the community. Our team can meet any challenge and we’re committed to giving municipalities and agencies the tools and support they need to protect their communities.”
H2M’s design team recently completed several mission-critical and law enforcement facilities, such as the Saratoga County public safety facility, the Albany County 9-1-1 call center, and the Rockville Centre police station. H2M handled all phases of design, construction, and cut-over for each facility.
Currently, the team is working on a new headquarters for the Port Washington Police District and an addition to the Southampton Police Department. Both projects will provide new state-of-the-art facilities built for resiliency, reliability, and redundancy. Occupant health and mental wellness, safety and security, and technology will also be top priorities.
Patrick clarified, “This rebrand does not mean that we’re forgetting our roots. H2M’s first steps as architects into the world of emergency services came from Joe Mottola [the Chief Operating Officer of H2M] and his work with the Hicksville Fire District. Since that time, H2M has successfully completed hundreds of emergency services projects. Joe and I are both volunteer firefighters and we are fully committed to continuing to support all first responders. The health and well-being of first responders will always be of the utmost importance in our designs.
The Public Safety Market is expanding its geographic area of service. Although the firm originally hails from Long Island, New York, H2M has grown throughout New England, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
