Air Quality Forces FL Firefighters to Temporary Station

Riviera Beach firefighters were relocated as a precaution after unknown particles were found at one of the department's fire stations while testing for mold.

Air quality concerns at a Florida fire station forced firefighters to relocate to another facility.

Tuesday's precautionary move came after Riviera Beach firehouses were tested for mold, WPTV-TV reports. Findings for Station 86 didn't reveal mold, but other unidentified particulates were discovered.

Riviera Beach stations now will receive a deep scrub down that will include removing the carpeting and cleaning the HVAC systems. More tests will be performed before officials know how long the firefighters will need to stay in the temporary station, according to WPTV.
