SALT LAKE CITY— Priority Dispatch Corp. (PDC) received the World Trade Center of Utah’s 2015 International Business of the Year Award Aug. 26 at the Utah Global Forum, hosted by Utah Gov. Gary Herbert and presented in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce.
“Priority Dispatch, a leader in providing emergency dispatch protocol products, is a great example of what it means to think, act, and succeed globally,” said Derek B. Miller, president and CEO of World Trade Center of Utah. “This company’s system is used in 42 different countries and has been translated into 19 different languages and dialects. We applaud Priority Dispatch for their ingenuity and success and are proud to call them our 2015 International Company of the Year.”
Dr. Jeff Clawson, inventor of the Priority Dispatch System (PDS), founder of the company, and its CEO, accepted the award, sponsored by KeyBank.
“It’s a great honor to receive this award,” Clawson said. “We’ve been able to do things that we call the creation of meaningful change. By inventing things, by getting things out, making things happen in a rapid fashion, we’re able not only to save lives but improve the life of every person that calls 911 or an equivalent three-digit number in the world that uses the process. Thanks to all the people that really make this happen. I thought up the idea, but it doesn’t go anywhere without the great people who are behind it.”
