Towers on the left report a fire. The communications layers are usually point-to-point microwave, but 3G and other options have been deployed. The broad red arrows highlight the human value-add where operators escalate alarms when smoke events are in fact wildfires. These events are placed on a WatchList which ensures that the Dispatch Centre (top right) and the ForestWatch Online users can track these fires, by looking at the latest imagery as well as the associated fireline maps.
