Methodology
The IAFF First Responder Operations course is designed to accommodate four case studies. The case studies are used to reinforce what the students have learned in the four units of the IAFF FRO course: Common Alarms, Health & Safety, Recognition & Identification and Planned Response. With this flexible course template, instructors are able to pick and choose those case studies that best match the needs of their jurisdiction.

How to use these case studies
1. Split the class up into four teams.
2. Select one case study from each of the four incident categories listed below.
3. Assign each team one of these four case studies for each unit of the FRO course.
4. Have each team complete the case study exercise for each one of the four FRO units.
5. The students will work with the same team throughout the course, however their case study assignment will change for each unit.
Please note: The facilitated case studies are part of our First Responder Operation course.
