PATRICK COUNTY, Va. -- A Patrick County elementary school was destroyed by fire early Saturday morning, a school official said. Patrick County Schools Superintendent Dr. Roger Morris said a fire alarm at Meadows of Dan Elementary School alerted fire officials of the fire at 3:15 a.m. Saturday. Fire officials said 54 firefighters from 17 different departments arrived to put out the fire about 4 a.m.
