N.Y. Fire Dept. Battles Town to Keep Doors Open

Sept. 28, 2013
The ongoing fire department debate in the Village of Prospect continues. After taking the village to court yesterday, Fire Chief Wayne Primo will be given back the keys to the fire station. The village voted 82 to 46 Wednesday to abolish the station, in an effort to pay off a 2008 worker's compensation case and prevent future liabilities. At that point the station's assets and land became the property of the village, but that is no longer the case.
