WOODLAND HILLS, CA -- December 11, 2000 - On December 6, 2000, in a brief ceremony, Arnie Rubin, President of Code 3 Collectibles®, and Scott Schellhase, Vice President, presented a check to Worcester Fire Department Chief Gerald Dio for over $50,000. Representatives from each of the fallen firefighters' families were also in attendance. Each family was given a Code 3 Collectibles® Worcester Memorial Pumper. Local press covered the event.
Code 3 Collectibles® released in November a 1/64 scale E-One Cyclone II pumper that is modeled after Engine 3 of the Worcester Fire Department. This officially authorized pumper was created as a memorial to the tragedy that took place on December 3, 1999. The donation to the fund represents all the profits earned from the sale of this limited edition pumper. It is truly because of the overwhelming support of the Code 3 Collectibles® customers that purchased the pumper that this donation is possible.
Scott Schellhase, Vice President of Code 3 Collectibles®, commented, "We understand our role in giving back to the firefighting community to which we are so closely tied. This donation is indicative of the continued charitable funds and activities with which Code 3 Collectibles® will be involved."
Code 3 Collectibles® captures the tradition and spirit of today's fire and ems departments with limited edition, detailed replicas of the finest emergency vehicles.
