Apparatus - River Edge, N.J., Company 1 Gets New Engine

Firefighters with the River Edge, N.J.,  Fire Department, Company 1, recently put Engine 3, built by Pierce Mfg., in service. It built on a Pierce Saber FR six-occupant cab and chassis, powered by a Cummins ISL 9 400-hp engine and an Allison transmission. It also has a Waterous 1,500-gpm pump, a 500-gallon polypropylene tank a low hosebed height and roll-up compartment doors.
