Allendale, Mich., Puts 100-foot Platform in Service

Platform 141 is Allendale, Mich., Fire Rescue's new 100-foot, rear-mount aerial built by Smeal Fire Apparatus. It is built on a Spartan Gladiator cab and chassis and powered by a Cummins ISX 600-hp engine and an Allison 4000EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous 2,000-gpm pump and a 300-gallon UPF water tank. Other equipment includes painted R.O.M. roll-up doors, a 10,000-watt SmartPower generator, Weldon V-MUX electrical system, and dual TFT monitors, one manual and one electrically-controlled. It was sold by Alan D'Agostino, R & R Fire Truck Repair, Inc., Northville, Mich.
