The Lakewood, OH, Fire Department has recently put in service a Kubota RTV x900 ATV with a Kimtek Research skid body.

The Lakewood, OH, Fire Department has recently put in service a Kubota RTV x900 ATV with a Kimtek Research skid body. The $13,750 unit is fully loaded with hand tools, medical supplies, lights and siren. It has been put to use in many ways in the vibrant city. The community has many festivals with crowds exceeding 10,000 people. The unit, assigned as K-1, provides the city with the maneuverability to quickly gain access to a patients in areas that are difficult to reach for a medic unit. The ATV is able to transport patients to awaiting medic units outside of the crowded areas. The unit also carries an extinguisher and hand tools for any small fire incidents that may occur.
