The Lyon Township Fire Department, New Hudson, MI, has taken delivery of a custom pumper built by Pierce Mfg. It is built on a Pierce Enforcer cab and chassis, powered by a Detroit Diesel DD13 engine and an Allison transmission. To fight fire, it has a Pierce PUC 1,500-gpm pump, a 1,000-gallon water tank with a 40-gallon foam cell, a Husky foam system.and a TFT Hurricane deluge gun. Other features include a Smart Power 6,000-watt hydraulic generator, a special walkway hosebed, Whelen scene and warning lights, Will-Burt light tower, Kussmaul battery and air conditioner, and a Federal Signal Q2B mechanical siren.
