The Northwest Fire Department, in Leland, NC, has taken delivery of a custom Sutphen pumper. It's built on a heavy-duty custom chassis powered by a Cummins L9 450 hp engine and an Allison transmission. To fight fire, it has a Hale QMax 1,500-gpm pump and a 750-gallon water tank. Other equipment includes a Leece Neville 270 amp alternator, Whelen lights, a crew seat EMS cabinet with outside access and a black pump panel.
