FDNY Assigns First All-Female Company

The FDNY recently assigned an all-female engine company for fire suppression coverage during the UN General Assembly in Manhattan.

The FDNY has revealed the recent assignment of its first all-female engine company for an important detail.

In a post on its Facebook recruitment page, the FDNY says the six-firefighter crew was assigned to Engine 503 on 51st Street in Manhattan.

“The unit was part of the FDNY’s resources assigned to provide fire suppression protection during the UN General Assembly," the post reads.

The engine company assignment included Lt. Tracy Lewis and firefighters Martha Brekke, Eniola Brown, Vanessa Schoening, Sarinya Srisakul and Regina Wilson.
