Man Charged With N.Y. Arson Fire
A man has been charged with setting a massive fire that destroyed part of a Rochester shopping center in November, according to The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
Rondell L. Flowers was charged yesterday (Jan. 6) with second-degree arson in connection with the Nov. 23 blaze on North Clinton Avenue at the Ridge-Clinton Plaza.
The fire destroyed a Family Dollar store and heavily damaged other stories in the shopping center.
Three firefighters and one civilian sustained minor injuries in the blaze, which took more than five hours to control.
An ATF response team helped determine that the fire was intentionally set within the Family Dollar store.
Losses were estimated at more than $3 million.
If convicted of the charge, Flowers could face 25 years to life in prison.
