Worker Killed, Tenn. Firefighter Injured in Blast
A worker was trapped and killed and a firefighter was injured after an explosion at a munitions plant in Oakland this afternoon, according to WMC-TV.
The incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. at the Kinematics Research plant.
Crews worked to free the trapped victim, but he was later confirmed dead. The injured firefighter was been transported to a local hospital.
Munitions inside the plant continued to explode as firefighters battled the blaze.
There's no word on what caused the blast.
Oakland is about 30 miles northeast of Memphis.
