Firefighters battled the blaze into the early-morning hours Thursday at the Spring Hollow Lane home. The home, owned by George and Virginia Estiville, was a total loss, as was a large travel trailer parked outside.

Flames lit up the neighborhood off Richardson Road, and a large plume of smoke rose into the moonlit sky over the area, as the modern, split-level wood frame home quickly became fully involved in flames. No nearby

Neighbors at the scene early Thursday told the Times Argus that five people escaped blaze, including the Estivilles, their daughter, and two grandchildren, but that the family dog, an adult pug, was unaccounted for. Barre Town Fire Chief Chris Violette told the Times Argus everyone escaped the late night fire without serious injury.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
